Privacy Policy for Well-Thought
Last Updated: 13/11/2025
Your privacy is the foundation upon which Well-Thought is built. We believe that for a tool like this to be truly helpful, it must first be a place of absolute safety and trust. This policy outlines our data practices in the clearest possible terms.
1. Our Core Privacy Philosophy: Your Thoughts Are Yours Alone
Well-Thought is designed from the ground up to be a private digital sanctuary. Our commitment to your privacy is not just a policy; it is an architectural reality of the application.
The app is stand-alone and works offline. It does not connect to any servers to store, process, or analyse your personal data. All of your journal entries, mood scores, and analysis results are stored securely on your device and never leave it.
We, the developers at Clinical Digital Health Ltd., have zero access to your personal reflections. We cannot see your data. We cannot sell your data. We cannot share your data. This is not because we are promising not to, but because we have built the app in such a way that it is technically impossible for us to do so.
2. What Information We Do NOT Collect
To be perfectly clear, the Well-Thought application does not collect any of the following personal data:
-
Your journal entries, thoughts, or reflections.*
-
Your PHQ-9 or GAD-7 scores or any other mood data.
-
Your name, email address, or other contact information.
-
Your device ID, location data, or advertising identifiers.
-
Any personal information that you do not voluntarily provide by contacting us directly.
*The only exception to this is the optional, anonymous feedback feature detailed in section 3.c, which is entirely under your control.
3. The Limited Ways We Receive Information
There are only three situations in which we might receive information from you:
a. If You Contact Us by Email: If you choose to contact us for technical support or general feedback at support@wellthought.co.uk, we will have your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. This information will be used solely for the purpose of responding to your enquiry. We strongly advise that you do not send sensitive personal or health information via email. Our support email is for technical and general feedback only, not for therapeutic support.
b. Website Analytics: Our website, wellthought.co.uk, uses standard, anonymous analytics tools (provided by our host, Wix) to understand visitor traffic, such as which pages are most popular. This data is aggregated and anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally. This data is related to your website visit only and is completely separate from the app.
c. Anonymous Feedback for App Improvement (Optional):
To help improve the quality of our analysis for all users, the app includes an optional feature that may occasionally identify a new or unique thought pattern. When this happens, you may be invited to share feedback.
This feature is built on a foundation of user choice and complete anonymity:
-
It is Entirely Optional: Data is never sent unless you give your explicit consent via a pop-up dialogue within the app.
-
Only the Thought is Sent: If, and only if, you agree, only the raw text of that single thought is transmitted.
-
It is Completely Anonymous: This submission is permanently and irrevocably separated from your journal, your account, your device ID, and any other personal information. No other data is collected. We have architected the system to make it technically impossible to trace the thought back to you.
-
You Have Full Control: You can choose to share, choose not to share, or choose to permanently opt-out of ever being asked again, all from within the app.
This anonymous data is used for the sole purpose of allowing us to analyse new thought patterns and improve the app's core functionality.
4. How Your Data is Stored
All data you enter into the Well-Thought app is stored in a secure, private database directly on your own device. The security of this data is protected by the security of your phone or tablet itself (e.g., your passcode, Face ID, or fingerprint lock). We are not responsible for the security of data on a device that has been lost, stolen, or compromised.
5. Data Export
The app includes a feature that allows you to export your PHQ-9 and GAD-7 questionnaire results into a PDF or CSV file. This action is entirely under your control. The export happens on your device, and you are solely responsible for how you choose to store or share that exported file.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for individuals aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 16.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date at the top. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
